The TV set its connected to the HUB via Cat5 ethernet cable and the WD disk via USB 2.0

I purchased a SanDisk V-mate that records whatever coming to its composite (red white yellow). However when recording, it does not output to TV.

WILLSON... MPG jumps ahead - I have converted over 500 DVD's to MPG using VOB2MPGPRO (http://www.videohelp.com/tools/VOB2MPG) and I am finding many MPG's skip ahead a few seconds/minutes which is very annoying.
I've converted the MPG to AVI (or even MPG2) -etc with another program and played back successfully without ... crashes - i wonder if anyone can help the programe works fine and converts and burns np but after it has done one film it will not allow me to do another it freezes my computer and i have to restart the pc before i can use it again anyone got any ideas or is it me missing something on the settings ?...
